Eclesiastes

Nem ainda no teu pensamento amaldições o rei; nem tampouco na tua recâmara amaldiçoes o rico; porque as aves dos céus levarão a voz, e uma criatura alada dará notícia da palavra.

Bem-aventurada tu, ó terra, quando teu rei é filho dos nobres, e teus príncipes comem a tempo, para se fortalecerem, e não para bebedice.

pois em seu coração você sabe que muitas vezes você mesmo também falou mal de outros.

One generation goeth, and another generation cometh; but the earth abideth for ever.

Tenho visto o trabalho penoso que Deus deu aos filhos dos homens para nele se exercitarem.

Nem ainda no teu pensamento amaldiçoes o rei; e não amaldiçoes o rico nem ainda na tua câmara; porque as aves do céu levarão a tua voz, e o que tem asas declarará as tuas palavras.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
