I Crônicas 29:11

Tua é, Senhor, a magnificência, e o poder, e a honra, e a vitória, e a majestade; porque teu é tudo quanto há nos céus e na terra; teu é, Senhor, o reino, e tu te exaltaste por cabeça sobre todos.

David foi rei em Israel durante quarenta anos; sete em Hebrom e trinta e três em Jerusalém. Morreu numa avançada idade, rico e honrado. O seu filho Salomão reinou em seu lugar. A história do rei David foi escrita nas crónicas de Samuel o profeta, na história escrita por Natã o profeta, e na história do profeta Gad. Estas narrativas dizem respeito ao seu reino, ao seu poder e a tudo o que lhe aconteceu, a si e a Israel, assim como aos reis dos povos vizinhos.
