Então o rei disse à mulher: "Não me esconda nada do que vou lhe perguntar". "Fale o rei, meu senhor", disse a mulher.

Respondendo o rei, disse à mulher: Não me encubras o que te vou perguntar. Respondeu a mulher: Fale agora o rei meu senhor.

Acontecia aliás que Absalão era dos homens mais belos que havia em Israel; toda a sua aparência, dos pés à cabeça, era agradável. A cabeça tinha um cabelo extremamente farto: só cortava o cabelo uma vez no ano, e fazia-o porque lhe chegava a pesar quilo e meio e não aguentava esse incómodo! Tinha três filhos e uma filha, Tamar, que era uma bela rapariga.
