"Quanto a você, siga o seu caminho até o fim. Você descansará, e então, no final dos dias, você se levantará para receber a herança que lhe cabe".

E depois de ti se levantará outro reino, inferior ao teu; e um terceiro reino, de bronze, o qual dominará sobre toda a terra.

No dia vinte e quatro do primeiro mês, estava eu à borda do grande rio, o Tigre;

O Altíssimo Deus, ó rei, deu a Nabucodonozor, teu pai, o reino e a grandeza, glória e majestade;

Quanto a mim, Daniel, o meu espírito foi abatido dentro do corpo, e as visões da minha cabeça me perturbaram.

And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.

Respondeu o rei, e disse: Percebo muito bem que vós quereis ganhar tempo; porque vedes que o assunto me tem escapado.

I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.

Portanto, ó rei, aceita o meu conselho, e põe fim aos teus pecados, praticando a justiça, e às tuas iniqüidades, usando de misericórdia com os pobres, se, porventura, se prolongar a tua tranqüilidade.

Falou Daniel, e disse: Eu estava olhando, numa visão noturna, e eis que os quatro ventos do céu agitavam o Mar Grande.
